Permanent Makeup Update
So I’m studying to take the state board exam for my PMU license in Virginia, even though I’ll be practicing in Maryland. It’s just for my peace of mind. Maryland is a wild state. Not only have they taken damn near 3 months to send me my license (filed for reciprocity), they have no state regulations for permanent makeup. Like, I’m actually tatting people’s faces, dealing with bloodbourne pathogens and bodily fluids but you don’t need a license to practice in the state. Virginia however ain’t having that sh*t. So, for MY protection; I decided to just do PMU school in V.A., get the license, and if M.D. ever decides to wise up and regulate it then I can just file for reciprocity again.
Anywho, PMU has been going well for me. It’s EXPENSIVE with all the schooling, then private lessons, then equipment and product….but I see myself doing this more in my career than anything else. The more I do, the better I’ll get. Launching a special for lips and eyebrows from now until fall actually to build my portfolio. So if anyone is interested, please shoot me an email. Funny enough, I can not practice PMU where I do facial services, so I’ll be taking clients at my home. Yeah, not a fan of too much energy in my home, BUT I am a fan of PMU so the good outweighs the bad.
Hope you enjoyed these eyebrows I did!
